Let us look at what we can expect of a cross breed of Newfoundland Husky mix.
There are not many Newfoundland Husky mix or Newsky found at the breeders of repute and hence one has to draw the references from the parentage.
Both Newfoundland and Husky are large working dogs. Newfoundland originated in the Canadian region of Newfoundland whereas Husky originated in Northern Russia.
Newfoundland is a larger dog than Husky but is known to be gentle. They are also known as Gentle giants. They were originally bred as a working dog for fishermen.
Newfoundland dogs are very good swimmers and excel in rescue with their webbed feet aiding the swimming and muscular strength.
Huskies were originally bred in northern Russia for pulling the sled. They are family dogs who can be independent having prey instincts. They are highly energetic dogs.

Physical characteristics of Newfoundland Husky mix
To draw the expectation of the new cross breed let us have a brief look at the parent breeds of Newfoundland and Husky.
Full-grown Newfoundland can grow to a height of 28 inches and weigh approximately 130 to 150 pounds.
A full-grown Siberian Husky may grow to a height of 23 inches and can weigh approximately 45 to 60 pounds.
The cross breed may have varied physical characteristics based on which side is more dominant. But we can expect the cross breed dog to be a large dog with a size of approx 24 to 36 inches and a weight of approx 80 to 100 pounds.
The temperament of the Newfoundland Husky mix
Newfoundland is known for their gentle attitude. They are more like large living teddy bears. They are very friendly with children and love to be with the family.
Huskies are also good family dogs but can be independent and obstinate. They love to play with children as well but it is best to be under adult supervision.
It would be difficult to guess about their temperament as this would mean which side is more dominant. If Husky is more dominant expect the dog to be a highly energetic playful dog whereas if Newfoundland is more dominant, expect him to be gentle.
Both Husky and Newfoundland shed a lot so the new cross breed would be shedding huge. Be prepared to see the dog fur all around. You need to ensure regular brushing and bathing of the dog so as to keep his coat clean and magnificent.
As both Husky and Newfoundlands are large dogs, expect the cross breed to be prone to some common health issues of large dogs like hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, hypothyroidism, etc.
